Robert J Thornburg, 62, of Athens and Jacksonville, TX, died Sun, Oct 22, 2000, at St Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.
He was born Nov 1, 1937, in Kalkaska to Robert and Hilda (Musser) Thornburg. He graduated from Kalkaska High School in 1956. He was married to Dorothy V. Groner on Jan 2, 1989, in Glenrose, TX.
Robert enjoyed traveling and camping.
Surviving are his wife Dorothy, daughters, Gail Hogarth of Thomasville, Debbie Milligan of Kalamazoo, Jeanette Martin of Grayling and Dawn Thornburg of Grand Rapids, and Robert Thornburg, who is currently touring the Western United States; brother James Thornburg of Athens; and 12 grandchildren.
Services were Oct 25, at Spencer Family Funeral Home in Athens; Pastor Marvin Savola officiated. Interment was in North Athens Cemetery.
