Robert H. Anderson, 66, of Petoskey, died Jun 27, 1994 at his home in Bear Creek Township.
Funeral will be 2pm Thu, Jun 30, at Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey. The Rev. David Behling will officiate, and burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Petoskey.
Mr. Anderson was born Jul 26, 1927 in Brighton, the son of David G. and Alvira M. (Conant) Anderson. He grew up in Detroit and attended school in the Detroit area.
On August 20, 1949, he married Joyce Reed in Petoskey, and she survives.
In 1945, Mr. Anderson joined the US Navy and served overseas in the Philippine Islands and Japan.
In 1966, he opened the Sandwich Grill in Petoskey, which he owned and operated until 1972. He then went to work for Little Traverse Hospital as a cook, retiring in 1984.
Mr. Anderson enjoyed fishing, hunting, and bowling. He was a member of the Jaycees, Optimist Club, American Legion, VFW, Odd Fellows, Eagles Club, and Outboard Club. He was also a charter member of the Petoskey Police Auxiliary.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; five daughters, Marsha Mosley and her husband Rudy, of Tucson, AZ, Mary Bennett and her husband Ralph, of Topinabee, Marie Shively and her husband Norm of Henderson, NV, Marty Ravencroft and her husband Marty of Spokane, WA, and Ms. Marilyn Anderson of Petoskey; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Robert Anderson. Visitation will be held 7 to 9pm today, Jun 29, at Stone Funeral Home.
