Robert Eugene Revell, aged 91, passed away on Sun, Mar 13, 2016 of chronic pulmonary fibrosis. Bob was born in Boonsboro, MD on Nov 7, 1924 and left school at age 17 to run the family farm.
Bob married Ruth Stottlemeyer in 1950 and they worked together to lead deaf churches in Norfolk, VA and later in Los Angeles, CA. In 1955 they moved to Fredericksburg, VA to establish the Highway Assembly of God, which they led for 35 years. While building the church community, Bob worked at Mary Washington College, starting as an electrician and retiring as head of Buildings and Grounds. In 1990 Bob and Ruth retired to the Potomac Park Conference Center, where Bob cared for Ruth during a series of health challenges, often filling in for absent pastors in area churches. He counseled inmates in local jails and prisons through New Hope Ministries, and taught Sunday School at Life House Bethel unit three weeks before his death.
Robert was one of eleven children born to Irene and Carlton Revell of whom eight survived to adulthood. Ruth, his beloved wife of 63 years, passed away in 2013, and their son Robert Eugene Revell Jr, died in 2014. Bob is survived by his brother Van; his sisters, Sara Frey and Betty Diggins; his daughter, Cheryl McCulla; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
