Robert D. Guy, 82, of Traverse City, died Tue, Nov 16, 1999, at Munson Medical Center.
Mr. Guy had been a lifelong resident of the area, and was employed by Cone Drive Gear Company prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Unity Church, and enjoyed sports, hunting, and fishing.
Mr. Guy was born in Rapid City on Sep 16, 1917, to Earl and Mildred Kinsey Guy. He was united in marriage with Pauline McDonald in Kalkaska on Aug 31, 1937. She preceded him in death on Jul 13, 1997. On Jun 29, 1998, in Traverse City, he married Patricia Kietz, who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by sons Sam (Virginia) Guy of Bellaire, Tom (Mary) Guy of Fife Lake, and Gerald Guy of Rapid City; daughters Pamela (Ralph) Sofferdine of Traverse City, Maryann (Jerry) Lewis of Manistee, and Sandee Guy of Grawn; stepchildren Michael Sandomierski of Charlevoix, Anthony Sandomierski of Traverse City, and Lisa Rabideau of fort Wayne, IN; brothers Earl Guy Jr of Rapid City, Maurice Guy of Kalkaska, Jack Guy of Rapid City, and Richard Guy of Florida; siters Joan Hubbell of Virginia, Mary Jane Clifton of Rapid City, and Evelyn Guy of Bellaire; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.
Sisters Harriet and Betty preceded him in death.
Funeral services were Nov 19 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Dale Zick officiated. Interment was in Clearwater Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
