Robert D. Dietz, 83, of Kalkaska, died Sun, Sep 28, 1997, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Dietz had been a lifelong resident of Kalkaska, and worked as a mechanic for the Kalkaska County Road Commission prior to his retirement. He enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Dietz was born in Kalkaska on Feb 18, 1914, to Donald and Edith Stafford Dietz. He married Laura Wonsey in Kalkaska on Aug 21, 1936. She died Mar 25, 1977. On Jan 9, 1978, in Kalkaska, he married Dorothy Root who preceded him in death on Aug 27, 1991.
Surviving are daughters Sandra Beasinger of Prudenville and Imo Jean O'Toole of Locust Grove, VA; stepsons Merle Root of Kalkaska and Jesse Root of Gaylord; stepdaughter Maxine of Florida; and several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A son Warren, three grandchildren, three brothers and five sisters, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm Wednesday at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Pastor James Hagler officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
