Robert C. Harbaugh Sr, 67 of 746 Ohio 545, Ashland, Rd 5, died Monday evening in Mansfield General Hospital after a short illness.

He was born Feb 8, 1917, in Wayne County. Mr. Harbaugh retired April 1 from the Farmers Production Credit Association in Ashland, where he had worked since 1951. He was in charge of the association’s leasing program when he retired.
A WWII U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Harbaugh was president of the Savannah Lions Club at the time of his death. He also served as secretary of the Ashland County Fair Board and secretary-treasurer of the Baby Beef Association and was a former board member of Ashland Equity.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Bartley Harbaugh, whom he married Jan 18, 1979, four sons, John S of Dalton and Robert C Jr, Scott A and Phillip L all of Ashland; five stepdaughters, three stepsons, 10 grandchildren, 19 step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; one brother, Max of West Salem and two sisters, Maxine Kline of West Salem and Mary Herman of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Miller Harbaugh. They were married Jun 25, 1939. She died in Oct 1977.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 pm in the Gilbert Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jerry Mitchell. Burial will be in Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may call tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
