A3/c Robert A. Black, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gardner Black, died of cancer Wed morning in the Deckerville Hospital, where he had been confined for the past two weeks.
He was born in Lapeer, Sep 9, 1933, and moved with his family to Croswell in 1944. He graduated from Croswell Lexington High School in 1952, and enlisted in the US Air Force in Oct of that year. He was stationed at the Air Force base in Chatereau, Franc, for nearly two years. Because of ill health, he was transferred back to the US in Dec and a medical discharge from the service was recommended for him at Samson Air Base, NY, in May. He returned to his home here to await disposition of the recommendation.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian church, Croswell.
Surviving are his parents; one brother, Carl, and one sister, Diane, both at home; and his grandmother, Mrs. Aaron Black, Croswell.
The remains are at the Pomeroy Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held from the Presbyterian church at 2 pm Fri, with Rev. Robert H Yolton, pastor, in charge. Burial will be in Croswell Cemetery.
