Ricky Chalfant Jr., 22, of Fife Lake, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at the Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
He was born in Traverse City on July 11. 1981, to Ricky and Tamara (Clark) Chalfant. Ricky grew up in South Boardman and had been a resident of the area for most of his life. He was employed in construction. He loved basketball, children and animals, and had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Canton.
Ricky is survived by a daughter, Sydney, and her mother, Shannon Thomas, both of Wayne; father, Ricky Sr. (Brenda Giraud and her children) of Cedar; mother, Tamara Chalfant of Fife Lake; brothers, Daniel of Fife Lake and Jeremiah of Cedar, sister, Katrina Chalfant (Kenneth Kelley) of South Boardman; grandparents, Philo (Joan) Clark of Kalkaska, Barbara Hominga of Traverse City and Jerry Chalfant of Brownsboro, Texas; nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 19. at the Evergreen Baptist Church in Kalkaska, with Pastor Jack Hoffman officiating. Burial was at the Oliver Township Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by the Hall Funeral Chapel in Manton.
