Richard M. Williams, 81, of Kalkaska, a retired manufacturer, died Wed, November 20, 1985 at the Kalkaska Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Williams moved to Kalkaska from Grand Rapids in 1948, and founded the Kalkaska Tackle Company which he operated for many years. Following his retirement, he engaged in Christmas Tree Farming. He was an avid trout fisherman and hunter.
He was born in Manton on September 13, 1904, to Hubert and Mina (Putman) Williams. He was married on May 9, 1928, in Grand Rapids to Eleanore Szczepanski, who died on Jul 29, 1984. Surviving is one niece, Sari Sue Bolen of Grand Rapids.
One brother, William Williams, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Sat, November 23, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Eddie L. Bratton, Pastor of the Kalkaska Church of Christ officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
