Richard “Dick” M. Parks of Lake City passed away Sun, Jun 20, 2010 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was 75 years old.
He was born on Jan 9, 1935 to Richard C. and Edith E. (Hammond) in Flushing, MI. Dick married Donna Fae Clapsaddle on Jun 5, 1954 in Flint. He worked in Flint at the McDonald Dairy, retiring after 38 years. Dick was a 32nd Degree Mason and served in the Navy Reserve for 10 years.
He was an avid licensed pilot for more than 25 years. Dick and his wife loved to travel around the country in their motor home. Dick was a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Lake City.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; three brothers, Howard (Evelyn) Parks of Bridgeport, MI, David (Patricia) Parks of Sebring, FL and Jim Parks of Otisville; one sister, Elaine Pakrs of Durand ; several aunts and uncles; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be Thu, Jun 24, at 11 am at the Young Funeral Home, with Rev. Don VanDyke officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 pm with Masonic service starting at 7 pm.
Memorial tributes may be given to Shriners Hospitals for Children or the E.P.C. Parsonage Fund.
