Richard "Dick" Harris, 75, of Kalkaska has gone to be with his Lord. He passed away on Sun, Jan 27, 2008 at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center - LTC.
Dick was born in Lansing on Jan 21, 1933, to the late Oral and Georgia (VanPatten) Harris. He married Gwendlyn Gould in Lansing on Nov 14, 1959.
Because of Dick's love for Christ and His church his main involvements have been serving through the local church, De Colores, and attendance at several Promise Keepers gatherings. Dick retired from Wayne Wire Cloth Products in 1995 after 21 years of service. He was a member of the Kalkaska Church of Christ. Dick will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
He leaves his loving wife of 48 years, Gwen; his children, Robin (Norman) Smith of Severn, MD, Scott Harris of Kalispell, MT, and Jan (Rob) Barnard of Kalkaska; grandchildren, Evan Smith, Hannah Barnard, Emily Barnard, and Nathan Barnard; siblings, Roger (Linda) Harris of Kalkaska, Colleeen (Michael) Dankenbring of Kalkaska, and Vickie Lewis of Lansing; and several nieces and nephews.
A home going memorial celebration will be held in the springtime, to be announced at a later date.
