Richard D. Smith, 72, of Fife Lake died Sun, Mar 8, 1992 at his residence.
Mr. Smith moved to Kalkaska County, from Detroit, in 1978. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Post in Traverse City and a member of the Kalkaska V.F.W. He enjoyed golf and music.
He was born on Apr 26, 1919, in Columbus, Ohio, to Virgil and Gladys Duff Smith. On Jul 4, 1947, in Melvindale, he married Mildred Clover, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Richard D. Smith, Jr and Calvin J Smith of Melvindale; four daughters, Gail Blackmon of Rockwood, Paula Lipinski of Kalkaska, Joyce Libby of Melvindale and Janet Borshch of Clarkston; 10 grandchildren, Valerie, Kelly, Dale, Dennis, Lisa, Mark, Michael, Carrie, Jimmy, Steve, and one great grandson, Matthew.
Funeral services will be held, Wed, Mar 11, 1992 at the Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska. Father Patrick J. Barrett officiated. Burial was in Garfield Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
