Richard D. Fairbanks, 71, of Kalkaska, passed away Mar 15, 1997.
Mr. Fairbanks retired from Kent-Moore Company of Michigan Center in Jackson County. A veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII, he worked in construction after his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy J. of Kalkaska; daughter Bonnie (Dale) French of Grayling; son Bill (Jo) Fairbanks of Rives Junction; stepsons Roger Allen, Randy (Peggy) Allen and Dale (Karen) Allen, all of Strockbridge; stepdaughter Dawn (Kelly) Krieger of Jackson; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia, and brothers Doug and Duke Fairbanks.
Funeral services were held Mar 18 at Nichols-Arthur Funeral Home in Michigan Center with Rev. H. Michael Bracy officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team providing military honors.
