Rex C. Campbell, 73, of Kalkaska, died Fri, Dec 18, 1992, at Seiverville General Hospital in Sevierville, TN.
Mr. Campbell had been a resident of Kalkaska for the past 52 years, and was a former member of the Kalkaska Township Board.
He worked in the petroleum distributing business for 27 years, and for 17 years owned and operated the Campbell Oil Company.
For the past 17 years, he has served as the sexton of Evergreen Cemetery in Kalkaska.
He was a member of the Kalkaska Church of the Nazarene, and enjoyed hunting, and traveling.
Mr. Campbell was born in Harrison on Oct 4, 1919 to John and Leah Youngs Campbell.
On Aug 9, 1941, in Manton, he was married to Beatrice Six who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Jerry Campbell of Kalkaska, Dwight Campbell of Acme, Carroll Campbell of Traverse City, and Ronald Campbell of Spruce; two daughters, Mrs. Danny (Darlene) Bittle of Conway, Ark; and Mrs. Doug (Valarie) Webb of Kalkaska; four brothers, Max Campbell of Kalkaska, Dale Campbell of Nashville, TN, Ted Campbell of Plainwell, and Paul Campbell of Delton; four sisters, Margaret Wishart and Jeanette Dewar both of Kalkaska, Lucille Tierney of Taylor, and Grace Denoyer of Troy, OH; 14 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Three brothers, Ralph, Lloyd and Elmer Campbell, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Tue, Dec 22, 1992, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
Rev. David McCool, pastor of the Kalkaska Church of the Nazarene, officiated.
Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
