Mrs. Rena A. White, 88, of Kalkaska, died Sun, May 7, 1995, at her residence.
Mrs. White had been a resident of Kalkaska County since 1964. She was a graduate of Western Michigan University and Wayne State University, and retired as a teacher and principal of Woodland School in East Detroit. She was affiliated with the Kalkaska United Methodist Church, and enjoyed reading and bingo.
Born in Scottville, on Jul 26, 1906, she was the daughter of Guy and Amy Forbes Dargie. On Feb 12, 1926 in Boyne Falls, she married Victor White who preceded her in death on Feb 15, 1976.
Surviving are two sons, Nuel (Florence) White of Florida, and Victor (Peggy) White of Eaton Rapids; one sister, Robert Hauxwell of Grayling; five grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
One brother, Howard Dargie, preceded her in death.
Visitation was held Monday at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska and Tuesday at the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. Additional visitation will be held from 1 to 3 and 5 to 9 pm Wednesday at the Clyne Funeral Home in Eastpointe where services will be held at 1 pm Thursday. Rev. Thomas Evans will officiate. Burial will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Macomb County.
