Raymond R. Chwastek, 79, of Kalkaska, died Sat, Sep 19, 1992 at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Chwastek was employed by Budd Company in Detroit for 29 years, prior to his retirement in 1976. He moved to Kalkaska County from Dearborn. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW2, and was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
Mr. Chwastek was born in Gary, WV on Aug 31, 1913, to Vincent and Michalina Modelski Chwastek. He was married to Frances Ferenc in Detroit on Oct 4, 1947.
Surviving are his wife, Frances; three sons, Zane and Lawrence Chwastek, both of Kalkaska, and Michael Chwastek of Phoenix, AZ; three sisters in law, Helen Chwastek of Kalkaska, Helen Chwastek of Plymouth, and Josephine Chwastek of Dearborn; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Benjamin, Alex, and Henry Chwastek.
Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tue, Sep 22, 1992, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Father Patrick Barrett officiated. Burial was in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
