Raymond H. Monette, 76, of South Boardman, died Tue, May 23, 1995, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Monette moved to Kalkaska County 49 years ago from Lapeer County. He had been employed by the Kalkaska County Road Commission prior to his retirement in 1978. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a member of Land O'Lakes V.F.W. Post 8684. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Monette was born in Lapeer County on Mar 10, 1919, to Ernest and Edna (Gibson) Monette. He married Dorothy PIngel in Beattyville, KY, Oct 19, 1940.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; daughters Raylene Wilborn of Western Springs, IL, Diane Ravitch of Phoenix, AZ, and Deborah Hill of South Boardman; and six grandchildren.
Son Garry and brothers, Victor, Edward, and Albert preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Sun, May 28, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Father Patrick J. Barrett, pastor of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church officiated. Burial was in Boardman Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
Graveside services were under the auspices of Land O'Lakes V.F.W. Post 8684.
