Ralph H. Severns, 78, of Torch Bridge Court died on Sun, Sep 6, 1992 at his home, following an extended illness.
Mr. Severns moved to the Torch Bridge area following his retirement in 1971. He had been employed with Fisher body Division of General Motors Corporation in supervision. He had worked in Flint from 1934 until 1951, and he was transferred to Grand Rapids, where he worked until 1971.
He was a member of the Alden United Methodist Church. He enjoyed many things including, square dancing and trout fishing. He was a talented craftsman and he did silver smithing, lapidary and tied trout flys. He built his retirement home.
On Dec 29, 1913 in Akron, OH he was born to Raymond F. and Harriett (Fish) Severns.
In Flint on Jun 15, 1935 he was married to Ruth Jacobson, and she survives.
Also surviving is one son, Douglas Severns and his wife Susan of Grand Haven; two granddaughters, Sandra Severns and Mrs. Brett (Laurel) Shields; two grandsons, Davied and Scott McKee; and two great grandsons.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda McKee in 1992, two brothers, William and John Severns, and one sister, Ruth Bedgood.
Funeral services were held on Wed, Sep 9, at the Alden United Methodist Church with Richard Morrison officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc.
