Ralph E Vert Sr peacefully passed at home. His wife of 66 years Wilma (MacLean) Vert by his side.
He was the 8th child of 12 born to Alex & Naomi (MacPherson) Vert. All proceeding him, leaving his Sister Mary Lou (Vert) Weir and brother Ross Vert to carry on the family legacy. Ralph & Wilma married in Mar 1955 & had 10 children of their own. Thelma (Joe) Riley, Kim (Joe) Dunn, Ralph Jr (Susan), Milo, Mark (Laurie), Carla (Jim) Hurlburt, Nancy (Bill) Cupp, Cindy (Mike) LaCrosse, Marci (Mike) Kravis, Marty (Kati).
He was preceded by his son Milo & granddaughter Shannon, sons in law, Joe Riley, Joe Dunn, Jim Hurlburt & Bill Cupp.
He had 30 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren & another on the way, 1 great great granddaughter & a great great grandson on the way. Many brothers & sisters in law and nieces and nephews.
He joined the Michigan State Troops at 16 by telling them he was 18 helping to protect our State. He joined the US Army where he served in Germany. He had many jobs in his lifetime starting work at 12 years old to help his mother out with bills. Most will remember him as “the Milkman” working for Golden Producers & Soo Creamery.
He was a GREAT husband & father and will be GREATLY missed.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Mon, Jun 7, 2021, at CS Mulder Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service. Burial will be at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens.
