Longtime Cadillac area resident Ralph Duane Lanning, 61, of 4140 T. 28 Road, died Fri, Aug 26 at Mercy Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Lanning was born October 3, 1915, near Manton. He married Janet Wigger Apr 12, 1936, in Battle Creek.
He had lived in his Cadillac residence for the past 33 years and had been employed by Kysor Heater in Cadillac for 27 years.
He attended schools in Bloomfield Township of Missaukee County and in the Mesick area. He was a veteran of WWII.
He attended First Independent Bible Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Judy) Bell of Zeeland; his mother Mae Lanning Neilsen of Battle Creek; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Lucille) Brown and Mrs. Stanley (Jeraline) Macey both of Battle Creek; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2pm Sun in Peterson Funeral Home. Revs. Allen Robbins and Glen Soper officiated. Burial was in Selma Township Cemetery.
