Phyllis Jean Hansen, 78, of Jackson, passed away Apr 17, 2009, at Countryside Care Center in Jackson. She was born Oct 1, 1930, in Lansing, the daughter of the late Ernest and Edith (Rose) Guile.
She is survived by one sister, Margie Shumway, along with two children; son, Tim Hansen, and wife Diane Hansen and daughter, Tammy (Hansen) Schmidt, and husband, Robert Schmidt.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Timothy Hansen, Thomas Hansen, Keith Schmidt and Tracy Schmidt, along with great grandson Zachary Hansen.
Phyllis loved crocheting and spent a lot of her free time making things for others. She also enjoyed watching her soap operas and sporting events. She spent most of her life in Kalkaska and always called it home.
At her request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service to honor her life will be held on Sat, Apr 25, at 10:30 am at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. A luncheon will follow after the memorial service.
