Phillis "Bobby" Elkins, 80, a lifelong resident of Kalkaska County, passed away at her South Boardman home on Mon, Jul 18, 2011. She was born on Dec 29, 1930 in Mecosta County to the late Robert R. and Florence (Hemphrey) Smith.
Bobby enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed gardening and picking wild berries. Bobby's greatest joy was spending time with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved to cook and bake cookies for.
Bobby is survived by her devoted daughters, Cinda Snell, Carol (Tim Wiley) Elkins, and Tina (Gary) Tracey, all of South Boardman; her son in law, Andrew Schaub; her 21 cherished grandchildren; her 62 precious great grandchildren; her loving sisters, Frances Schaub and Connie Yoder; and her dear brother, Jack Yoder.
Bobby was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Cecil Elkins; her son Marshall Elkins; her daughter, Nelda Schaub; her daughter in law, Kathy Elkins; her grandchildren, Adam Tracey and Vicki Elkins; her great grandchildren, Zach Schaub-Foster and Noah Elkins; her brohter, Charles Yoder; and her sisters, Wilma Green and Elloise Yoder.
A memorial service for Bobby was held on Fri, Jul 22, 2011 at 11 am at the Evergreen Bible Baptist Church with Pastor William Kuiper officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.
