Pauline F. Guy, 76, a retired LPN, went to be with our Lord Sun, Jul 14, 1996, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Pauline was a resident of Rapid City most of her adult life. She grew up in Bellaire and then attended high school in Kalkaska. For the past four years she lived with her husband and daughter in Grawn. She was a member of the Bellaire Wesleyan Church.
She was born Jul 16, 1919, in cedar Run, the daughter of Samuel and Mary (Malnory) McDonald.
On Aug 31, 1937, she married Robert D. Guy, who survives. Also surviving are sons Sam (Ginny) of Bellaire, Tom (Mary) of Fife Lake and Moe of Rapid City; daughters Pam (Ralph) Soffredine of Traverse City, Mary (Jerry) Lewis of Manistee and Sandee Guy of Grawn; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Before obtaining her license in nursing and while raising her family. Pauline worked for the Rapid City school system, where she served as a senior high school girls basketball coach for several years, and was affectionately referred to throughout the area as "the coach," due to her abilities and competitiveness.
Along with her passion for sports she enjoyed gardening, but most of all her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Mary, sisters Dreama Longton and Virginia Pierson, and brothers David and Texas McDonald.
Funeral services will be held Wed, Jul 17, at 11 am at the Bellaire Wesleyan Church, the Rev. Douglas Beadle officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire.
