Pauline Huffman, 83, of Fife Lake and formerly of Brown City passed away on Apr 6, 2022. She was born May 19, 1938 in Flint, MI to Russell and Mary (Clark) Clapsaddle. Pauline graduated from Brown City High School, class of 1956 and married Donald Huffman on Aug 16, 1958 in Brown City.
Pauline is survived by her four children, Donald Huffman, Kathryn (Steven) Voice, Darcy (Beth) Huffman, and George Huffman, all of Fife Lake. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Donald, Eric, and Bradley Huffman, Ryan and Mitchell Voice, Rachel Helsel and Alicia Lamey, as well as 18 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Mary Clapsaddle, her sister, Betty Stacy, and her two brothers, Zane and Wayne Clapsaddle.
All who knew her would describe Pauline as warm and welcoming and everyone was invited into her kitchen for a cup of coffee. Cherished memories shared by her family include traipsing through the woods hunting for morel mushrooms, planting the garden in the spring that always produced mountains of vegetables in the fall, family fishing trips to White River, Canada, and occasional trips to Turtle Creek casino. Over the years there has always been a miniature schnauzer in her home. First Mandy, then Mindy, Mollie, Macy…and now Marti, who was Pauline’s constant companion over the past year.
A wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Pauline will be dearly missed but remembered with love by her entire family and wide circle of friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at Kalkaska Funeral Home on Wed, Apr 20, 2022 at 10 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 am and a luncheon at 12 pm (same location). Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Inurnment will occur in Omard Cemetery, Sanilac County, MI at a later date.
