Funeral services will be held Thur at 2pm from the Libbey Funeral Home for Paul G. Havens, 51, a resident of this district since 1914, who died Sat from a heart attack while deer hunting.
Services will be conducted by Duane Schendel of the Warba Presbyterian church and interment will be in Itasca Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Truman-Blakesley American Legion post number 432 of Warba. Mr. Havens served with the Air Force from 1942-1945 during WW II.
Survivors are his wife Ethel; two sons, M/Sgt. Russell Havens with the Army in Germany; airman 3/C Larry, Grand Forks, Air Force Base, ND; six daughters, Mrs. Lloyd McGuire, Mrs. Jerome Carey, Miss Ellen, Patricia, Peggy and Linda Havens all of Warba; his father, George F. Havens of Grand Rapids; eight grandchildren; and four brothers, Donald and Merl of Medford, OK, Merl of Medfork, OK, and Royal of Oklahoma City.
Born Jul 10, 1901 at Afton, IA, Paul Havens came to Itasca County in 1914 and was married to Ethel Lee on Jun 14, 1929 at Grand Rapids. He had been employed as a brakeman by the Oliver Iron Mining division.
