Owen Dean "Bill" Bellinger, 83, of Kalkaska, died Wed, Oct 23, 1996, at his residence.
Mr. Bellinger spent his early years in Kalkaska, and moved to the Northville and Novi area in 1942. He returned to Kalkaska in 1973, following his retirement from the Dunlop Trucking Company.
Born in Kalkaska County on Sep 11, 1913, he was the son of Frank L and Iva B (Wells) Bellinger. On Nov 6, 1937, in Elk Rapids, he married Violet Andrus who preceded him in death on Feb 11, 1988.
Surviving are one son, Willard J "Duke" (Brenda) Bellinger of Kalkaska; two daughters, Bonnie J (Norman) Peterson and Deanna (Fred) Bateson both of Traverse City; one brother, Ovid D Bellinger of Conroe, TX; two sisters, Opal D Fochtman of Alpena and Oma D. (Wesley) Vorac of Pentwater; seven grandchildren, Michael O and Lawrence R (Denise) Henderson, Joseph D, Wendy A., and Michelle L Bellinger, and Heidi and Robin Nyson; four great grandchildren, Daniel R. Henderson, and Amanda, Justine, and Tyler Nyson; his brothers and sisters in law, Rena Bellinger of Kalkaska, Perella Tull and Theo and Betty Andrus of Traverse City, Tom and Barbara Bee and Betty Andrus of Old Mission, Max and Jean Jackson of Waterford, Martha Schlosser of Beaverton, Ivan and Anita Andrus of Dugspur, VA, Marge Andrus of Kentucky, and Mary Andrus of OR; numerous nieces and nephews including Donald and Peggy Bellinger and Jim and Jane Fochtman of Kalkaska, and special friends, Leonard and Georgia Simkins of Kalkaska.
Two brothers, Orrin D "Jack" and Oral D "Bud" Bellinger and four infant siblings preceded him in death.
Memorial services were held Sun, Oct 27, at The Peoples Church in Kalkaska. Rev Paul Karges officiated. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Kalkaska High School Library or the Kalkaska County Historical Society. Arrangements by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
