Orland James Campbell, 64, of Rapid City, died Sat, May 31, 1997, at Birchwood Nursing Center in Traverse City.
Mr. Campbell moved to Kalkaska County 17 years ago from Traverse City. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and was employed by General Motors prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Kalkaska Moose Lodge and the Alden Grange. He was a very active community volunteer.
Born in Midland County on Nov 15, 1932, he was the son of Orland and Leota (Griffith) Campbell. On Jan 21, 1995, in Rapid City, he married Annette Antaya, who survives.
Also surviving are sons Ron and Don Griffith of Mt. Pleasant, Wayne Campbell of South Boardman, Ed and Keith Antaya of Alden, and William Campbell of Ocala, FL; daughters Melva Welch of Central Lake, Sherry Wilson of Alden and Jennie Campbell of Traverse City; sister Mary Cummings of IN; and 14 grandchildren.
One son, one grandson, one sister, and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wed, Jun 4, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kalkaska. Rev. Ted Turanski will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
Military services will be held under the auspices of Land O'Lakes VFW Post 8684.
