Mrs. Opal P Hauser, 83, of Kalkaska, died Fri, Sep 27, 1996, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mrs. Hauser spent her early years in Kalkaska County, and then moved to Lansing in 1931. She lived there until 1972, when she returned to Kalkaska. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, and enjoyed fishing, ,crocheting, and bridge.
Mrs. Hauser was born in Kalkaska County on Mar 18, 1913, to Harry and Nina Armstrong Larabee. On Sep 16, 1933, in Lansing, she was united in marriage with Walter Hauser uho preceded her in death on May 23, 1991.
Surviving are one son, John Hauser of Lansing; one daughter, Mrs. Gary (Mary) Ludwig of Portsmouth, VA; four brothers, Devere Larabee of Kalkaska, Melvin and Rex Larabee of Muskegon, and Max Larabee of Brighton; four sisters, Leta Martin, Beatrice Patterson, Vivian Turnipseed, and Nova Darke all of Kalkaska; one grandson, john Hauser Jr. of Belding; and several nieces and nephews.
One brother, Harold, one sisters Elma; and one granddaughter, Christine Hauser, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Duane Schmeichel, pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, officiated. Burial was in Excelsior Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County. Memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
