Mrs. Opal M. Brockway, 84, of Kalkaska, died Tue, Nov 23, 1993 at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center, Long-Term Care.
She was a lifelong resident of Kalkaska County and was a member of the Kalkaska County Historical Society. She was a firm believer in living by the golden rule, and she enjoyed crocheting, birds and her family. She was born on Oct 4, 1909 in Kalkaska County to Peter and Mary Sanders Lense. On Oct 8, 1928, in Kalkaska , she married John Edward Morris, who preceded her in death on Apr 30, 1945. On Oct 17, 1952, in South Boardman, she married Clifford Brockway, who preceded her in death on May 13, 1985.
Surviving are three sons, Glenn, Robert, and Harold Morris, all of Kalkaska, six daughters, Thelma Thomas and Doris McLean, both of Kalkaska, Edith Dusten of Metamora, Vera Roote and W. Jean Adkins, both of Dearborn Heights and Marilyn Strong of South Boardman; 32 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by one brother, Rheo Lense.
Funeral services were held Fri, Nov 26, 1993, at the Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska. Rev. Mike Mitchell officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
