Opal M. Nolff, 85, of South Boardman, died Thu, Jan 7, 1993 in Fife Lake.
Mrs. Nolff spend her early years in South Boardman and returned 20 years ago. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in South Boardman, the Gardner-Neihardt American Legion Auxiliary Unit 463 of South Boardman, Boardman Area Senior Citizens Club, the Widow's Club, Kalkaska County Historical Society, the Kalkaska Senior Citizen Kitchen Band, A.A.R.P., and the American Diabetes Association. She helped organize the 1976 Bicentennial Celebration in South Boardman and was cofounder of the Attic Museum in South Boardman. She was employed as a cook at the Boardman School, the Northland Restaurant and the Wheel Restaurant prior to retirement.
She was born on Mar 23, 1907, in South Boardman to Ben and Nellie Russell Allen. On Mar 4, 1926, in Detroit, she married Harold Nolff, who preceded her in death on Apr 23, 1980.
Surviving are three sons, Wallace and his wife, Caroline, and Elmond and his wife Bernadean, all of South Boardman, and Robert and his wife Rosie of Romulus; and one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Nelliejean) Dunaway of Indianapolis, IN; one brother, Bennie and his wife Betty Allen of Lansing; one sister, Bernice Walker of Troy; three sisters in law, Doris MacIntosh of Traverse City, Evelina Allen of Grayling and Gertrude (Vipond) Lantz of Kalkaska; three brothers in law, Harry (Elizabeth) Nolff of Little Mountain, S.C.; 18 grandchildren, Mrs. George (Paulette) Sarns of Traverse City, Pauline Fraser of Lansing, Rick Nolff of Kenosha, WI, Judy Nolff of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Gerald (Karen) Korson of South Boardman, Bonnie Garrett of South Boardman, Mrs. Ronald (Nancy) Zingg of South Boardman, Mrs. Kevin (Lori) Denike of South Boardman, Lisa Nolff of Kalkaska, Elmond Nolff Jr of South Boardman, Mark Nolff of South Boardman, Gregg (Beth) Nolff of Romulus, Matthew (Donna) Nolff of Romulus, Mrs. Kevin (Stephanie) Jensen of Romulus, Raymond (Vicki) Dunaway Jr of Indianapolis, IN, Kimberly Brewster of Troy, Mrs. Richard (Pamela) Maier of Indianapolis, IN, and Randall (Grace) Dunaway of Indianapolis, IN; two step grandchildren, Roger Balcer of Grand Rapids and Kevin Balcer of Fairbanks, AK; 21 great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded ind eath by two brothers, Doyle and Kenneth Allen, and one sister, Virgil Allen.
Funeral services were held Mon, Jan 11, 1993 at the Victory Baptist Church, South Boardman. Rev. William McQueen officiated. Burial will bein the Boardman Township Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
