Opal C. Decent, 70, of Kalkaska, died Oct 30, 1998, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mrs. Decent was born in Muskegon Aug 10, 1928, the daughter of the late Ora and Gertrude Poort Nichols. She married William Decent in Muskegon on Apr 13, 1947.
Mrs. Decent resided in Farmington until moving to Kalkaska in 1988. She had been employed as a waitress in various restaurants and was employed by Craft House prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Kalkaska Moose Lodge and enjoyed crocheting and crafts.
Surviving are husband William; son Timothy Decent of Deford; daughters Linda Waack of Harrison Township, and Susan VanVliet and Deborah Marvin, both of Kalkaska; sister Marion Angelo of Madison Heights; 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Brother Stanley preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Nov 2, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
