Norman Anderson, 84, of Kalkaska, passed away on Apr 22, 2007, at Munson Medical Center. He was born Dec 12, 1922, to the late Oscar and Eva (Vipond) Anderson at the Anderson family farm in Orange Township.
A lifelong resident of Kalkaska, Norm married Audrey McLain on May 3, 1942. He retired in 1987 from Wayne Wire. Norm worked on his family farm his whole life, even while working full-time at Wayne Wire. Last summer he still helped bale hay with his grandson Trevor. He was also very involved in his community. Norm was a past president of the Kalkaska School Board and a TBA board member for several years and trustee for 28 years. In Jun 2001, Norm received an award from Traverse Bay Area ISB Board of Education for 54 years of dedicated service. He was also a devoted member of the Evergreen Bible Baptist Church where he also served on their board.
Surviving Norm is his wife of 64 years, Audrey; his children, Larry (Charlene) Anderson of Lakeland, FL, Susan Ball of Kalkaksa, and Shelly (Tim) Gallia of Carrollton, TX; daughter in law, Connie Anderson of Haiti; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter.
Preceding Norm in death was his son Terry Anderson on Apr 3, 2007; and his daughter in law,m Pamela Anderson in May 2006; and all of his siblings.
Visitation for Norm was on Thu, Apr 26 at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. Funeral services were Fri at 1 pm at the Evergreen Bible Baptist Church in Kalkaska with Pastor Bill Kuiper officiating. Burial will be at Lodi Cemetery in Orange Township.
