Norma Smith of Fife Lake, passed away at home on Tue, May 21, 2013. She was 75.
She was born on Jan 7, 1938, in Detroit, to LeGrand and Evelyn (Clements) Shephard. Norma married Bernard “Jack” Smith on Jun 2, 1956.
She worked at Manton Industries/ Avon for more than 30 years, retiring in 1999. She attended St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Fife Lake. She was a member of the Alter Society (DCCW) and the American Legion Post No. 219 Auxiliary. Norma enjoyed traveling, playing games, reading, watching movies, doing puzzles, quilting, and most of all, she enjoyed her family and friends.
Norma is survived by children: Jeffery (Janell) Smith of Walton, Cindi Smith of Lake Ann, Kathy Smith of Walton, Michele Smith of Lake Ann, and John Michael Smith of Walton; ex daughter in law, Deana Mercs; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and four great step grandchildren; siblings: Donna Venditelli of St. Clair Shores, Robert “Bob” (Tara) Shepard of Long Beach, CA, Carneta (Jim) Decoste of Warren, and Richard “Rick” (Amy) Shepard of St. Clair Shoes; brother in law, Roger (Wanda) Smith of Walton and Bonnie Barnes of Manton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, in 2011; her parents, Lee and Evelyn Shepard of Roseville; father and mother in law, George and Edith Smith; siblings: Rossella Zawol, Jack Shepard, Larry Shepard, and Darlene Davidson; and by a step grandson, Nathan Austin.
There will be visitation at the Hall-Holdship Funeral Home in Manton on Thu, May 30, 2013, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Fri, May 31, 2013, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Fife Lake at 11am, with Father Norman Dickinson officiating. Burial will follow at the Walton Cemetery.
