Arthur Slentz, 85, 609 Lawn St, Winchester, died Tue, Jun 1, 1999, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie after a long illness.
He was born Sep 14, 1913, in Montpelier to Ervin and Losie VanHorn Slentz.
A graduate of Montpelier High School, he worked at Indiana Glass in Dunkirk for 42 years. Later, he was a night superintendent.
He was a member of Pleasantdale North Methodist Church in Montpelier and Elks Lodge 1776 in Dunkirk.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Margaret Johnston Slentz; one daughter, Sheila Brown of Dunkirk; a stepdaughter, Janice Botkin of Winchester; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Albert Slentz of Montpelier; and a sister, Dorothy Jones of Albany.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Emmabell Uhrick Slentz; one brother, Paul Slentz; and a sister, Vivian Quinsenberry.
Service will be at 1 pm Friday at Walker Funeral Home, Winchester, where friends may call from noon to 1 pm Friday. The Rev. Lewis Hansen will officiate. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Dunkirk.
