Nicholas R. Jones, 81, of Fife Lake, died Sat, Apr 5, 1997, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Jones moved to his farm in 1945 from Brown City, where he farmed until his death. He was a former member of the Farm Bureau, the Soil Conservation District, Michigan Milk Producers Association and the Democratic Party.
He was a former Garfield Township supervisor.
Mr. Jones was born in Brown City on Jan 16, 1916, to John and Lena (Stahl) Jones. On Jul 30, 1940, in Sandusky, he married Dorothy Mahaffy, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Larry (Terri), David (Kim), and Gary (Susan) Jones, all of Fife lake; brother Don Jones of Kingsley; three grandsons, Todd (Bobbie) Jones of South Boardman, and Scott and Chad Jones of Fife Lake; three granddaughters, Holly (Chad) Lowery, and Andrea and Leah Jones of Fife Lake; great grandson Lane Howard Jones of South Boardman; and several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Apr 7, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Tom Jones officiated. Burial will be in Garfield Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
