Mrs. Nellie V. Aldridge, 76, of Kingsley died this morning at Traverse City Osteopathic hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Smith Funeral Home in Kinglsey, Rev. Gerald Schudlich officiating with burial in Kingsley Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Aldridge was born Nov 6, 1894 at Walton Junction, the daughter of Emery and Nora Smith, and was a lifelong resident of the Kingsley area. She was a member of Traverse City St Michael’s Lutheran Church.
On Nov 1, 1913, she was married to Adolphus Aldridge, who preceded her in death; a stepson, Mancle and five sisters also preceded her in death.
Surviving are: four daughters, Ruth Roop of Traverse City, Mrs. Gerald (Varden) Akers of Muskegon Heights, and Mrs. Edward (Julia) Roop and Mrs. Wayne (Donna) Lewis, both of Kinglsey; four sons, Thomas and Adolphus of Traverse City, Basil of Muskegon and Elbridge of Kingsley; a step daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Clarice) Hicks of Manton; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are; four sisters, Harriet Kimball, Dorothy Dontje, and Mrs. Basil (Pearl) Vernier of Pontiac, and Mrs. Keith (Jane) Loper of Manton; four brothers, Emery and George E. Smith of Fife Lake and Roy and Robert Smith of Pontiac; and many other relatives.
