Nela A. McCool, 97 of Kalkaska, passed away at Munson Hospice House on Tue, Dec 28, 2010. She was born on Nov 10, 1913 in Kalkaska to the late Adam E. and Fannie (Coxon) King.
Nela married Leslie D. McCool on Oct 29, 1931 in Kalkaska. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, and sewing, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Nela was a member of the Kalkaska Church of Nazarene.
She is survived by her loving son, David L (Marilyn) McCool of Overland Park, KS; three cherished granddaughters, Susanne (Uele) Hunkin of Des Moines, IA, Kristen (Matthew) Lathrop of Kankakee, IL, and Amy (Donald) Ritenburgh of Lake Orion, MI; nine precious great grandchildren; her dear sister, Ethel McKee of Kalkaska and dear friends David and Vickie Wolfe of Kalkaska.
Visitation was held on Sun, Jan 2, from 4 to 8 pm at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. The service was held on Mon at the Kalkaska Church of the Nazarene at 2 pm with additional visitation from noon until the time of service. Reverend John Shoup of the Sturgis Church of the Nazarene officiated. Burail will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
