Nancy G. Starcher-Stewart, age 77 formerly of Atwater, passed away Fri, Nov 20, 2015, while residing at the Gardens of Western Reserve in Streetsboro.
She was born May 14, 1938, in Cleveland, OH, to parents, Abraham and Gertrude (Hunter) Williams. Nancy worked as a bookkeeper for Even Flo and Carlton Harley Davidson. She was a member of the Ravenna VFW Auxiliary, American Legion, Moose, and the Eagles. Nancy was known as the “Flag Lady of Ravenna.” She always made sure all the local veteran’s gravesites had their flags on them. Nancy also gave several speeches and lectures about the history of the flag.
She is survived by her children: Bill (Cheryl) Starcher, Tom (Beverly Klimp) Starcher, and LeeAnne Starcher, her twin brother: Lenny Williams, her brothers: Maurice (Miriam) Williams, and Larry Williams, as well as her sister (Betty) John Salem. Nancy’s memory will also be cherished by her 3 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Charles Stewart.
Friends will be received Mon, Nov 23, 2015, from 11 am until 12 pm at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, with her funeral service beginning at 12 pm. Interment will follow at Atwater Cemetery.
