Myrtle Jeffers, 86, 239 ½ Le Vasseur St., a cook for the University of Montana Theta Chi Fraternity for 13 years, died in her home Sunday.
Mrs. Jeffers, a Missoula resident since 1938, was born in Lincoln County, Kan., on Jan. 17, 1889, where she was reared and attended school.
She had worked a cook for several Missoula establishments and was a member of the Culinary Union. Mrs. Jeffers was also a member of the Epithian Sisters, Rebecca Lodge 17, WWI Auxiliary, American Legion Auxilary, Kathleen Walford Senior Citizens and the Ladies Moose.
Mrs. Jeffers married James H. Jeffers on Dec 27, 1905, in Junction City, Kan. He died in 1930.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bula Allan, Missoula; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Childers, Missoula; a grandson, and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Squire-Simmons-Carr Rose Chapel, with Rev. Paul Deane Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
