Mildred “Beb” Slagle of Cadillac passed away Dec 31, 2018 at her home. She was 65.
Beb was born Feb 26, 1953 in Cadillac, MI to James and Rosamond (Robinson) Niles and they preceded her death.
She graduated from Cadillac High School in 1971 and worked as a waitress for many years at various places in Cadillac including: Hillcrest, Big Boy and Frosty Cup. Beb also worked at Fiamm, Norge Village Laundromat and Dry Cleaner and Lakeshore Linen.
Beb was a member of Cornerstone Tabernacle and previously Church of God, both in Cadillac. She was a devoted Christian and was always willing to help others. Beb loved spending time with children and was especially happy when surrounded by her nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her infectious giggle and was an animal lover. Beb also loved God’s creation and going for barefoot walks to enjoy it.
On Aug 5, 1972 in Cadillac she married Herbert C. Slagle and he survives her along with their son, Clark Slagle (Holley Smith) of Cadillac; siblings: Nancy Crow of Traverse City, Evelyn “Billie” (Don) Podbilski of Lansing, Lois Lang of Lansing, Georgia (Paul) Goostrey of Hastings, Jan Niles, Dan (Julie) Niles all of Cadillac; many nieces and nephews; special friends: Jackie and Butch Longstreet and Phyllis Barber.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a niece, Terri.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Fri, Jan 4, 2019 at Revival Center of Cadillac with Pastor Will Markham officiating. Friends may meet the family Thursday from 3 to 6 pm at the Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services in Cadillac. Burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac.
