Mildred Jessie Weber, 76, of Grawn, died Thu at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
A lifelong resident of the Grawn area, she had worked with her daughter who owned Thaxton’s Bakery in Traverse City. Earlier she worked 10 years in housekeeping department at Munson Medical Center.
She was a member of Otto Rebekah Lodge No 474 of Kingsley and st Mary’s of Hannah Catholic Church.
Born in Grawn on Nov 19, 1914, she was the daughter of William and Esther (Ayers) Taylor. On Nov 14, 1933, in Hannah, she married John J Weber, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jack Weber of Grawn; two daughters, Yvonne Allen of Worchester, MA, and Penny Powarowski of St Helen; four brothers, Kenneth Taylor of FL, Francis Taylor of Traverse City, Fred Taylor of CA, and George Taylor of NC; a sister, Loretta Johnson of Grand Rapids; 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Elizabeth Thaxton and Shirley Gamache.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am Mon at St Mary’s of Hannah Catholic Church. The Rev Casimir Zawacki will officiate. Burial will be in St Mary’s Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today and Sunday at Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley, where a prayer service will be held at 2 pm Sunday.
