Mildred Giganti left this world to reunite with her beloved husband, Vincent, on Jun 5, 2010. She was born on Oct 28, 1928 in Columbus, OH, to Bertha and Charles Albright.
Apr 6, 1944, she married Vincent Giganti. After 35 years in St Clair Shores, they moved to South Boardman in 1989. They were married for 61 years when her husband passed away in 2005. Together they had three children who survive; Janet (Steven) Paulus of AuTrain, Gary (Diane) Giganti of St Johns, and Vincent (Mary Brink) Giganti of South Boardman; her grandchildren, Dawn (David) Richards, Vince (Emily Elsen) Paulus, Jessica (Mark Schindewolf) Paulus, Sara (Kevin) Crawford, Michael (Heather) Giganti, Joseph Giganti, and Miranda Giganti; 11 great grandchildren; her sister, Shirley Hackworth of Chesapeake, OH; her brother in laws, Anthony Giganti of Madison Heights, and John Giganti of Mt Clemens; several nieces and nephews; and her constant canine companion, Fozzie.
Preceding Mildred in death was her husband; her parents; her step father, Walter McCoy; infant granddaughter, Tawnya; and her brother, Thomas Albright.
Mildred was known as a little bundle of energy. She was involved in dance, clogging, and was a certified clown, participating for several years in the Trout Festival parade. She enjoyed making people smile. Her favorite thing to do was visiting the casino at every opportunity. Mildred was involved in the catering business for many years, first with Roma Halls and then her own business, Millies Catering. Her specialty was fruit tables.
Visitation will be held on Tue, Jun 8, from 6 to 9 pm at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. The funeral will be on Wed, at 3 pm at the funeral home with Dan Johnson of the Kalkaska Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be at Boardman Township Cemetery.
