Michael J Sanchez, 40, died Sat, Aug 28, 2004 at his home. A memorial service will be held on Sat, Sep 18, 2004, at the Garfield Township Hall in Fife Lake between 1 and 4 pm.
Mike was born on Feb 3, 1964, in Detroit, MI, the son of Joseph and Joyce (Sophie) Sanchez. He grew up in Sterling Heights and graduated from Stevenson High School in 1982. He went on to attend Macomb Community College. He had been employed as a machine, parts, and automotive designer for CDI Corp in Detroit and moved to Indian River in 1993.
On Oct 21, 1994, Mike married the former Kathrynn J Perrin in Cheboygan. The couple made their home in Indian River. Mike along with his brother, John, co-managed Camp Modoc. The family owned the resort on the Indian River until 2001 when the resort was sold. He and Kathy continued to make their home at Camp Modoc. Mike enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and Kayaking.
Mike is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Alicia, Cristina, and Joshua Sanchez; parents, Joseph (Melissa) Sanchez of Sterling Heights and Joyce (John) Joslin of Romeo; brother and sisters, Laurie Whitmore of Charlotte, NC, John (Laurie) Sanchez of Indian River, Therese (Fred) Azar of Fife Lake, and Jackie (Mike) White of Shelby Township, and several nieces and nephews.
