Michael A. (Whitey) Phillips, 58, of Rapid City, died Fri, May 17, 1996, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Phillips resided in Rochester until 15 years ago, when he moved to Rapid City. He served in the U.S. Navy, and enjoyed sports and woodworking.
He was born in Harrisburg, PA on Nov 2, 1937, to Leonard and Elizabeth (Reese) Philips. On Apr 21, 1971, in New York, he married Susan Farmer, who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by son Richard of Rapid City; daughters Elissa Stevens and Michelle Phillips both of NY, Billie Lenore of SC, and Suzette Phillips of Rapid City; brothers Charles of FL, Leonard of Las Vegas, and Billy of CT; sisters Mary Russo of CT; Richael Curried of AZ, and Lenore of CT; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Leonard and Helen Phillips.
Funeral services were held May 21, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. George Warnock and Rev. Frank Deater officiated. Burial was in Clearwater Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
