Mrs. Merva R. Brown, 90, of Traverse City, formerly of South Boardman, died Wed, Mar 13, 1996, at Munson Medical Center.
Mrs. Brown lived most of her life in Kalkaska County, and was a member of the East Boardman United Methodist Church. She enjoyed music, crocheting, and gardening.
Mrs. Brown was born in Hillsdale on May 14, 1905, to Chester and Eva (Hart) Hart. On Feb 27, 1926, in South Boardman, she was united in marriage to Reo Brown who preceded her in death on Apr 24, 1974.
Surviving are one son, Rex Brown of Zephyrhills, FL; one daughter, Yvonne Thayer of Traverse City; three sisters, Vera Cooper of Walled Lake, Wilma Ginter of Port Richey, FL, and Donna Uitvlugt of Grand Rapids; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Three brothers, Harvey, Lawrence, and Devere Hart and two sisters, Neta Buxton and Lorraine Parker, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Sat, Mar 16, 1996, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Roger Freed officiated. Burial was in Lodi Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
