Melissa "Missy" Birgy, 36, of Fife Lake, passed away on Jan 9, 2007, at her home. She was born on Oct 4, 1970, in Grosse Pointe Farms, the daughter of Michael and Margaret (Harwood) Birgy.
Missy is survived by her companion of 10 years, James Little; daughters, Maggie and Sarah Little of Fife Lake; her parents; siblings, Mike (Kelly) Birgy, Eric (Lisa) Birgy, Todd (Kayla Quillin) Birgy, all of Fife Lake; her maternal grandmother, Genevieve Harwood; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Most of Missy's life was spent living in Fife Lake, and she graduated from Forest Area High School in 1988. She was employed by the Forest Area Schools working in food preparation, a job that she loved. Missy enjoyed music, cooking, and especially family gatherings. She loved being a mother and spending time with her children.
Missy was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Leo Birgy; her paternal grandmother, Elsie Birgy and her maternal grandfather, William Harwood.
Funeral services were held Tue, Jan 16 at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Burial will be at Clark Cemetery in Springfield Township.
