Maxwell E. Klohn, age 91, of Sandusky passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, March 10, 2016 in Watertown Township. Max has lived in Sandusky since 1980 and was previously from the Snover area.
He was born June 8, 1924 in Deckerville, the son of the late Horace and Bernice (Bishop) Klohn.
Max graduated from Sandusky High School in 1943 and ettended M.S.U. where he received his Farrier certification.
Max married Arlette M Teets July 1, 1944 in Sandusky.
He was a farrier and farmer most of his life and also worked at Yale Rubber for 14 years. He enjoyed riding saddle horses, racing horses, just being outside and spending time, with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Arlette of 72 years of marriage; two daughters, Carol Haupt of Grand Rapids, Susan (Dennis) Samson of Sandusky; son in law, Alan Hoag of Sandusky; sister Joyce Burras of Long Beach, CA; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Jane Hoag.
Cremation will take place at May Memorial Crematory in Port Huron. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
