Mrs. Maxine E. Ryckman, 75, of Mancelona, died Mon, Jun 19, 1995 at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mrs. Ryckman had been a life-long resident of Kalkaska County. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and enjoyed writing poetry and short stories. She was active community service, and enjoyed camping and other family activities.
Born on Sep 30, 1919, in Kalkaska County, she was the daughter of Edward D. and Lulu Belle VanBuren Rugg. On Aug 20, 1939, in Kalkaska she was united in marriage to Willard A. Ryckman, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Willard A. (Rebecca) Ryckman Jr of Tampa, FL, James E. (Patricia) Ryckman of Charleston, SC, Ronald W (Mary) Ryckman of Meade, KS, and Douglas L (Martha) Ryckman of Houghton Lake; one daughter, Mary Sue (Olli) Wendelin of Charleston, SC; nine grandchildren, Shannon, Jefferson, Paula, Ron, Heather, Daniel, Jennifer, Ashley, and Cassandra; and six great grandchildren, Jefferson, Michael, Patrick, Rebecca, Alexa, and Corinne.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thu, Jun 22, 1995, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kalkaska. Rev. Ted Turanski officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Arrangements were by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
