Max "Lefty" Hamacher, 79, of Holland passed away at his home on Mar 20, 2006.
Max was born on Feb 15, 1927, in Kalkaska. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy. He retired in 1983 as a cutter grind from General Motor Corp. in Wyoming. He attended Alturas United Methodist Church. He loved sports.
In his younger days, Max played basketball, baseball, bowling, and golf, as well as being a hunting and fishing enthusiast. In his latter years, he became his grandchildren's No. 1 fan, as they played and coached sports.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Hamacher, of Lake Wales, FL; daughters, Cathy (Daniel) Crane of Moran, and Kim (Patrick) Harring of Holland; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tim) Zuiderveen, Brian Crane and fiance Stacey Havermahl, Brett (Megan) Harring, and Kendra Harring; and great grandchildren, Alyssa and Mieke Zuiderveen.
Memorial services will be held at 1 pm on Wed, Mar 29, at the Calvary Reformed Church in Holland.
