Mr. Max E. Bromley, 85, of Marysville, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008 in Marwood Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Nov 10, 1922 in Capac to the late Edward and Ethel Bromley.
He graduated from Capac high School and then joined and honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945.
He married Jennie Dorothy Kersten of Capac September 28, 1946.
Max was a loving husband, father, and friend. He was highly energized all of his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing many sports.
In retirement he kept himself busy by gardening, planting trees, cutting firewood, mowing lawn, and other hobbies. He looked forward to his weekly golf games and sharing a pitcher of beer with his golfing buddies at the American Legion.
He was a member of the Marysville United Methodist Church, American Legion, and Moose Lodge #158.
Max had a lot of friends, some of which he worked with for many years at the Detroit Edison.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothy; two sons, Kerry Bromley and Patrick (Audrey) Bromley, all of Wasilla, Alaska; and three stepgranddaughters, Ashley, Taylor, and Christina.
He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Edward, who was killed in Vietnam in 1967.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb 2, 2008 at 1:30 pm, with visitation from 1pm until the time of service in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Barbara E. Welbaum will officiate.
Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
